Cookie Policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Silver Footfalls uses. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. In the UK, cookies are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) as well as the UK GDPR.
The short version
We use only strictly necessary cookies and storage — the technical bits that keep you signed in and the Site working. We do not run adverts, and we do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. Strictly necessary cookies don’t require a consent banner, so we don’t show one.
Cookies and storage we use
| Name / type | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in & session cookies | Keep you securely signed in between pages and visits | Strictly necessary |
| Security cookie (CSRF token) | Protects sign-in and forms against cross-site request forgery | Strictly necessary |
| Browser storage — content-warning acknowledgement | Remembers that you chose to view a mature chapter on that device | Strictly necessary |
| Browser storage — saved stories | Remembers stories you’ve bookmarked | Strictly necessary |
Some of these are stored in your browser’s local storage rather than as traditional cookies, but we list them here for transparency.
Third-party cookies
Our own sign-in uses first-party cookies only — there is no third-party social login. When you pay, or complete an age check, our payment and age-verification providers may set their own cookies on their own pages while you use those services. Those are governed by the relevant provider’s cookie/privacy policy.
Where a story includes video, it is a non-explicit clip embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which means YouTube does not set its cookies unless you actually start playing the video.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way. Because the cookies we use are strictly necessary, blocking them may stop you from signing in or using parts of the Site.
